It's been a while since this happened, back in December before we found Laces a new home. But Garrett and I just had our 3 year anniversary, and this is just the ideal story to depict how sweet my husband is:
So I woke up one day and could not find my WEDDING RING. Yeah I know.
I usually leave it on the dresser right by the bed but it wasn't there! The last time I remembered having it was the night before in the bathroom; right before I washed my face I set it on the counter...
suspect #1:
But then I remembered how Laces sometimes
would jump up on the bed to fish through the stuff
on the dresser, bad dog.
So suspect #2:
(don't be fooled by this innocent face)
Finally after a couple days of searching and being moody and Garrett wondering what was wrong (wondering what he did wrong), I finally broke down in tears and told him the terrible. After some discussion and sobs we finally decided the only places it could now be (2 days later) was in China's water system... or Laces' poopoo... so guess what Garrett offered to do?

Has anyone seen Marly & Me?!
YES. He went through all of it with a shovel, dissecting it and being thorough.
Gross I know.
Meanwhile I went inside and did the only thing I know how for lost things - I prayed. On a serious note I honestly have a testimony of praying for the help to find lost items. I have ALWAYS been blessed with help when I have knelt on my knees in honest and sincere prayer, listening to know more places to look for my lost item.
On this occasion I had prayed, but hurriedly and without real intent... but this time was different. I just listenend and listened and remained quiet until a picture came to my mind! It was of me, putting my ring in my sweatshirt pocket after washing my face and then putting my sweatshirt in the laundry basket. So I jumped up, ran to the laundry and guess what?!
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. HAPPY.
After I ran screaming into the backyard he & Laces came in and rightfully took a little rest.
Garrett really is the most compassionate and self-less person ever. He is dedicated to our marriage and relationship, and I appreciate, love, admire, and adore him. I'm so lucky that I was blessed to get to marry someone who is more than the man of my dreams.
(PS no I didn't take the picture of him with the shovel
while he was in the act, that would've been cruel.
It was after we had our good laughs and
the ring was super-glued onto my finger!)
